About The Position

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Department of Neurology seeks a qualified individual to join its Division of Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology. Successful applicants should possess excellent clinical skills and have experience in teaching fellows, residents, and students. Research experience in clinical trials, imaging, cognitive neuroscience, dementia/Alzheimer’s disease, or other related areas is essential. The selected candidate will join a growing team with the newly formed South Carolina Alzheimer’s Network (SCAN). SCAN is a multi-site clinical program at MUSC Health designed to provide patients with an early and accurate diagnosis and treatment plan, longitudinal co-management with primary care, access to the new Alzheimer’s disease medications, and access to the latest research. The newly formed clinical SCAN team consists of 3 APPs, 2 Dementia Care Social Workers, Psychometrists, Dementia care Schedulers, and multiple partnerships and collaborations with Primary Care, Behavioral Psychiatry, and Geriatric Psychiatry. The Department of Neurology at MUSC is a rapidly growing academic program located in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina. Charleston is one of the most historic cities in the southeastern United States and offers a wide variety of recreational activities including swimming, sailing, kayaking, fishing and golf. There are numerous excellent restaurants, and the Spoleto Festival brings exceptional cultural events to the area every year.

Requirements

Excellent clinical skills
Experience in teaching fellows, residents, and students
Research experience in clinical trials, imaging, cognitive neuroscience, dementia/Alzheimer’s disease, or other related areas is essential
Board certification in general neurology is required
