About The Position

As a member of our hospitality team, the primary responsibility of a Coffee Shop Attendant is to prepare coffee to Marriott standards, ensuring its quality and freshness in the Hotel’s Coffee Shop. This role is essential for creating a positive and enjoyable dining experience for our guests by creating a positive first impression with a warm smile and addressing guests by name whenever possible. This role is responsible for changing out coffee every two hours to maintain optimal taste, stocking shelves, cleaning counters, or tables, and arranging food displays to promote sales. A crucial part of this role is ensuring a memorable and enjoyable experience for coffee shop patrons.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare coffee to Marriott standards, ensuring its quality and freshness for guests to enjoy.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area by practicing clean as you go methods.
  • Change out coffee every two hours to maintain its optimal taste and flavor.
  • Stock shelves, counters, or tables with the appropriate items to ensure a seamless and enjoyable guest experience.
  • Create eye-catching and attractive food displays on counters or tables to promote sales and entice guests.
  • Welcome each customer with a warm smile, addressing them by name when possible, and offering assistance to make them feel valued and comfortable.
  • Effectively handle payment transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system and following proper cash handling procedures.
  • Ensure that your issued bank is maintained at the correct amount at all times for accurate transactions.
  • Provide efficient and friendly service for guests purchasing to-go items by wrapping or bagging them appropriately.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of shelves, tables, floors, counters, and the outside patio area to uphold high sanitation standards.
  • Restock sold items, including retail and culinary/pastry items, to ensure guests have access to a wide selection of products.
  • Record and document the amount of cash in the register at the end of your shift for accurate accounting.
  • Keep track of sales and prepare an inventory of stock to ensure smooth operations and restocking as needed.
  • Practice proper food handling techniques while preparing food and drink items to maintain safety and hygiene standards.
  • Adhere to company guidelines and federal regulations when reporting gratuities and observing all requirements set forth by the ABC board.
