About The Position

As a Coffee House Lead, you and your team deliver high quality culinary offerings to our guests. You will oversee culinary team members in our café style restaurants, pop up dining experiences, and grab and go operations. You will ensure food safety protocols and standard recipes are followed and provide support with other operational needs. Your goal is for your team to operate efficiently and safely to provide guests with memorable meals.  This role will also serve as a line cook in the kitchen; working in various stations including grill, sauté, fry, prep, pantry, outdoor pop-up dining experiences, and providing support to the overall operation makes you the heart of the operation. You will keep our guests and team members safe by following food safety and sanitation protocols. We cater to a diverse range of guests including groups, families, and individuals varying in age, interests, and with various degrees of comfort in outdoor elements. This is a seasonal, hourly position and includes free employee housing for the duration of employment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Back of House leadership experience
  • Food Handler (ServSafe) Certification and TIPS certification
  • Must be obtained by property opening date or before starting any work involving food or alcohol handling
  • Knife skills and experience
  • Culinary passion
  • Communication skills
  • Ability to lead a team
  • This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment, when applicable.
  • This position requires that the individual is able to lift a minimum of 45lbs independently.
  • Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking, standing, bending, twisting, lifting, and maneuvering in an outdoor environment on uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, snow, humidity, and wind.
  • This position is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of a background check and/or motor vehicle records check, if requested by Under Canvas.

  • Actively maintain guest safety by making sure all food safety, sanitation protocols are being followed.

  • Set clear expectations, provide accurate, complete, and timely communication.
