About The Position

We're looking for a Coding Supervisor who is excited to lead and also contribute directly to accurate and timely coding for inpatient and outpatient services. In this dual role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance, and maintain team performance standards-while also functioning as an active coder with productivity expectations. Supervisors in this role are expected to step in during absences to support uninterrupted coding services.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate's degree in Health Information Management preferred
• OR 10 years of inpatient/outpatient coding experience (Coder II or III level)
• Completion of an accredited coding program preferred
• Certified Coding Specialist (AHIMA) or CPC/COC/CIC (AAPC) required
• RHIT or RHIA (AHIMA) preferred
• 5-7+ years of progressive coding experience
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English
• Must be able to demonstrate Service Excellence skills with patients, families, coworkers, and the community

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree in Health Information Management preferred
• Completion of an accredited coding program preferred
• RHIT or RHIA (AHIMA) preferred
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the coding team
• Function as a coder with measurable productivity expectations
• Cover coding responsibilities in the case of staff absences
• Ensure coding quality, accuracy, and compliance
• Mentor and train coding staff
• Collaborate with clinical and admin teams to support documentation
• Monitor and manage performance metrics
