About The Position

This position serves to provision, document, and report quality care and disease burden. Trains and educates coding quality staff, physicians other clinicians, and operations leaders on documentation and coding guidelines including by not limited to ICD-10-CM diagnoses codes, Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC), HCPC and CPT codes. Reviews internal and external data to inform patient outreach and pre-visit planning, and identification of clinical pathways.

Requirements

Bachelor's
CRC-Certified Risk Adjustment Coder OR CPC-Certified Professional Coder OR CCS-Certified Coding Specialist
CRC-Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (required within 1 year)
2 years recent relevant experience.
Advanced knowledge of ICD-10 diagnosis coding conventions and requirements.
Knowledge of HCC/Risk Adjustment coding.
Knowledge of CPT and HCPCS coding conventions.
Knowledge of CMS and HHS risk adjustment models.
Knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and medical record documentation requirements/processes.
Knowledge of electronic health records a must; Experience with Epic a plus.
Advanced skills with Power Point, Canva, and/or other presentation software.
Proficient use of coding software and reference books to assign/validate codes.
Knowledge of National Correct Coding Initiative edits, AHA Coding Clinic, and CPT Assistant
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Proficient with technology for remote learning (Teams, Zoom, Webinars, etc.)
The ability to work at a fast pace and maintain a high concentration level with accuracy is essential.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
