About The Position

This position is responsible for assigning and sequencing diagnostic and procedural codes to in-patient and out-patient medical records. This is done for billing, reimbursement, and data retrieval purposes, adhering to established coding guidelines. The role also involves reviewing documentation to accurately abstract clinical data, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required
• One to three years of prior coding experience
• Knowledge of MS-DRG, APR-DRG, ICD-10CM/PCS and CPT required
• Knowledge of computerized encoder programs
• Excellent customer service skills
• CCS required

Nice To Haves

• College degree preferred with coursework in Medical Terminology/Anatomy & Physiology and Computer experience
