About The Position

Arcosa Wind Towers is searching for a Coating Lead to join their team. As a Coatings Lead/Painter, you will prepare materials, surfaces, and structures for coverage with paint, laminate, rubber, or other material.

Requirements

Ability to operate conventional and airless spray equipment
Ability to mix and apply alkyds, epoxies, gel coats, powder coats, urethane, zinc epoxies or water borne paint systems
Ability to adjust nozzles on spray guns to obtain the proper dispersion of the spray and monitor the flow and viscosity of the paint or solution
Ability to clean paint lines, paint guns and perform other cleaning preventative maintenance
Ability to regulate temperature and air circulation in drying ovens
Ability to understand curing process
Ability to operate cranes
Ability to use mobile equipment (forklift, telehandler, ext.)
Ability to operate a grinder
Ability to troubleshoot machinery
Ability to follow all safety rules and practices
Ability to work as a team
Ability to demonstrate high ethical standards
Ability to treat all coworkers with dignity and respect
Ability to support a positive working culture
Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently

Nice To Haves

1 year paint experience or ability to learn paint process quickly
LEAN standardized processes for paint or the ability to learn the LEAN standardized processes
Basic knowledge of mill gauge and pressure monitors or the ability to learn

Responsibilities

Operates conventional and airless spray equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal and other types of surfaces
Mixes and applies alkyds, epoxies, gel coats, powder coats, urethane, zinc epoxies or water borne paint systems according to a prescribed formula
Adjust nozzles on spray guns to obtain the proper dispersion of the spray and monitors the flow and viscosity of the paint or solution
Cleans paint lines, paint guns and performs other cleaning preventative maintenance
Regulates temperature and air circulation in drying ovens
Understand the curing process
Be able to operate cranes
Use mobile equipment (forklift, telehandler, ext.)
Operate a grinder
Troubleshoot machinery
Follows all safety rules and practices
May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
Ability to work as a team, demonstrate high ethical standards, treat all coworkers with dignity and respect and support a positive working culture
