As a Coating Technician, you will be responsible for applying cathodic protective coatings to screws after the heat treatment process. Your role ensures product durability, resistance, and compliance with industry standards. Key responsibilities include surface preparation, precise coating application, and maintaining a high-quality finish. Working in a controlled and regulated environment, you must follow established procedures accurately while upholding strict safety and cleanliness standards. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality are essential. This position reports directly to the Department Supervisor. This position is on the A shift, working 11.5-hour shifts from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on a 2-3-2 rotating schedule: Monday–Tuesday and Saturday–Sunday one week, followed by Wednesday–Friday the next week. As a Coating Technician, you will be responsible for setting up, loading, and operating automated coating equipment, including Dip-spin and E-Coat systems, for in-house manufactured fasteners. You will manage process controls using HMIs and system software, ensuring smooth operation and troubleshooting any equipment issues as they arise. Regular equipment maintenance and process monitoring are essential to maintaining efficiency and quality. In addition, you will prepare components for application and maintain necessary pretreatment/paint materials before and during the coating process. This includes selecting, mixing, and adjusting coatings, acids, alkaline, and processing chemicals to meet job specifications. You will mix and prepare chemicals according to specifications, ensuring even application and adherence to quality standards. The technician will inspect completed work to confirm uniform coating coverage and compliance with quality requirements. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment is critical to meeting health and safety regulations. You will also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining paint equipment and tools, ensuring proper storage and functionality. Accurate record-keeping of process parameters and results are required for quality control. Additionally, you will identify and troubleshoot process or equipment issues to minimize downtime and waste, while also training new employees on work procedures.
