The Retention Coach supports the TRIO SSS program and its participants by providing academic advising, transfer guidance, and student support to new, pre-health, undeclared, military, and other special program students. The role embraces a team-based philosophy of proactive, intrusive advising and teaching, with student progress as the top priority. This approach emphasizes relationship management and collaboration with both academic and non-academic departments engaged in student development across the college. This position has been identified by Pueblo Community College as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) in accordance with the Department of Education guidelines. As a CSA, the incumbent in this position is required to report crimes that they become aware of to the Department of Public Safety at Pueblo Community College and must attend annual training related to these responsibilities. In accordance with Colorado Revised Statutes 24-50-135, this position has been exempted from the State Personnel System. This Position is FEDERALLY GRANT FUNDED.
