About The Position
This position is for a Coach for Middle School Girls Volleyball, effective for the 2026-2027 school year at Alice Vail Middle School. The role involves promoting sportsmanship and fostering good character in student athletes, while also ensuring the safety and welfare of all participants. The coach is responsible for supervising students in practice areas, locker rooms, busses, and at all times during the season. The role requires patience, tolerance, and diplomacy in interactions with players, parents, co-workers, contest officials, and spectators, emphasizing that interscholastic activities are an extension of the classroom and actions should be reflective of this.
Requirements
- NFHS Concussion certificate (Concussion in Sports Course)
- NFHS Sportsmanship Certificate (Sportsmanship Course)
- Act on Facts Suicide Prevention Training OR NFHS Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention certificate (Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Course)
- Current CPR w/AED (On-line classes are not accepted; EMT license supersedes this requirement)
- Current First Aid (On-line classes are not accepted; EMT license supersedes this requirement)
- Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Must be available to work on Saturdays as needed.
- Bloodborne pathogen training after hire by TUSD Risk Management Department
- Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
Responsibilities

- Exercise patience, tolerance and diplomacy in relations with all players, parents, co-workers, contest officials and spectators.
- Ensure actions, behavior and interactions with student athletes are reflective of interscholastic activities being an extension of the classroom.
