About The Position

The Co-Op Program – Afterschool Campus Assistant (Floater) is designed for high school or college students seeking hands-on experience in education, youth development, mentoring, or community service. This role supports daily afterschool operations by assisting staff and students across multiple campuses as needed. This position provides real-world exposure to working with children, team collaboration, leadership development, and professional responsibility in a structured educational environment.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a high school or college Co-Op or career pathway program
• Interest in education, mentoring, child development, or community service
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between campuses as assigned
• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with a team
• Positive attitude, patience, and willingness to learn
• Ability to stand, walk, and engage with students for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead and Tier 1 staff with daily afterschool program activities
• Support student supervision during transitions, activities, and dismissal
• Help facilitate structured activities such as homework time, enrichment, games, and group lessons
• Serve as a floater, providing coverage and support at different campuses as assigned
• Maintain a safe, positive, and respectful environment for all students
• Model appropriate behavior, communication, and professionalism
• Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of program materials
• Follow all Gathering Outreach policies, school campus procedures, and safety guidelines
