Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a MS degree in Mechanical Engineering with focus on Mechatronics hardware design.
  • Experience with basic lab equipment (Mechanical and Electrical)
  • Proficiency with Solidworks or similar CAD tool.
  • Prototyping and Machining Experience (Vertical Mill, Drill Press, Rapid Prototype, Lathe, etc.).
  • Comfortable with presenting to peers, cross functional teams and senior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Mobile Bot Hardware Engineering team with designing, documenting, building, testing and debugging of the latest technologies and engineering designs.
  • Contribute to the conception, analysis, prototyping, detailed design, and validation of Mechanical, Electromechanical systems.
  • Design parts for various manufacturing processes, including machining, casting, sheet metal, plastics, and fabricated assemblies.
  • Assemble electromechanical assemblies, fixtures utilizing hand tools, measurement equipment and machine tools.
  • Assist in debugging issues with the bot Mechanical and Electro-mechanical systems and components
  • Work with cross functional teams to verify designs and resolve issues.
  • Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of PLC hardware and software systems.
  • Collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines such as Hardware, Software, Control, Vision, and Safety to accomplish program and test objectives.
  • Inform reliability test plans to identify failure modes early in development cycles.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of system failures to support engineering development.
