Co-op: Clinical Drug Supply Operations

About The Position

The Clinical Drug Supply (CDS) department is responsible for the planning and delivery of investigational medicinal products to clinical sites worldwide supporting Biogen’s mission of discovering and developing innovative therapies for people living with serious neurological and neurodegenerative diseases. The CDS Operations Co-op will engage with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and implement a more efficient operating model enabling the department’s staff to more effectively deliver on its core mission. The Clinical Drug Supply Operations Co-op will lead a cross-functional effort to analyze the operational meetings and tools that are being leveraged to manage the clinical supply plan, source, make and deliver activities and identify areas where we can build a more efficient governance model. The role includes leading the project team in targeting areas for improvement, developing an implementation plan and putting it into action. Success for the project is defined through better alignment of key stakeholders (External Manufacturing, Clinical Drug Supply and Quality), more efficient use of meetings and more effective leveraging of new and/or current technologies resulting in a leaner process. The Operations Co-op will also support initiatives to define the future CDS technology roadmap as well as implementation of process improvement/supply efficiency projects.

Responsibilities

  • Leading project to analyze and improve cross-functional meetings and tools utilized to govern the clinical supply production and distribution processes.
  • Gaining deep understanding of the existing process and how each of the key stakeholders interact with each other and their critical business requirements.
  • Identifying gaps and overlaps in the current meeting structures and making recommendations to improve the effectiveness of these forums.
  • Delivering an implementation plan to improve the governance model for the Clinical Supply Chain
  • Supporting the creation and documentation of a 5-year technological roadmap for the Clinical Drug Supply group based upon existing systems gaps and future requirements
  • Providing support and potentially project leadership in continuous improvement initiatives impacting the clinical supply chain
