About The Position

We are looking for a Co-op, Analytical Development to join the Analytical Development team at Strand Therapeutics. The incoming co-op will work with the Analytical Development teams to help advance our analytical capabilities by executing on various experiments using techniques such as UPLC and LC/MS. The candidate will be expected to work in an innovative, fast-paced, and collaborative biotech environment.

Requirements

  • On track to graduate with a B.S. or M.S. in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Molecular Medicine, Genetics or related field.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures, make careful observations, maintain clear and complete records of lab work.
  • Strong collaboration and inter-personal skills.
  • Ability to present scientific context, experimental set up, data interpretation, and big-picture conclusions to a diverse audience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the biotechnology space is a plus.
  • mRNA working experience is strongly preferred, but not a requirement.
  • Basic knowledge of varying liquid chromatography modes such as RP, RP-IP, AEX, SEC etc. for biologics is desirable.
  • Familiarity with process development, and/or regulatory aspects of mRNA/LNP products would be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in development and execution of chromatography-based mRNA/LNP analytical methods.
  • Using various statistical tools to analyze and independently draw conclusions about data.
  • Analytically supporting the screening, optimization, and scale-up efforts in mRNA and LNP Process Development.
  • Working across diverse areas to support the group's development activities in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
