The Co-Occurring Therapist/ Specialist participates with the treatment team in developing the multidisciplinary plan according to departmental standards. The Co-Occurring Therapist/ Specialist performs patient assessments and functions as a primary group therapist for co-occurring diagnosis groups. The Co-Occurring Therapist/Specialist also provides in-service training to unit staff for co-occurring group therapy. This position delivers care in a prompt and professional manner, always maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and respect. The Co-Occurring Therapist/Specialist works as part of the multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of the patient and to support departmental objectives. This position provides quality customer service, participates in performance improvement efforts and assumes responsibility for professional growth and development. Duties and Responsibilities: Completing bio psychosocial assessments and preparing a comprehensive treatment plan in coordination with the treatment team Provides competent individual, family, couples, group psychotherapy and substance use therapy Provides other therapeutic services, within scope of demonstrated competence, as required Assists with case management and interagency coordination of services for clients. Knowledgeable of and competent in assessing for level of care utilizing an evidenced based tool Actively and competently makes recommendations on referrals based on level of care assessment Provides clinical guidance and appropriate interaction with internal and external providers
