About The Position

This position offers an opportunity to thrive and bring valuable skills to life within a setting known for providing the best quality care to patients. As a clinical associate, you will provide basic clinical services to patients and clerical support to the unit health-care team. The role involves interacting with patients, visitors, physicians, and other health professionals. Employees must attend mandatory orientation classes during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm for the first 2 weeks of employment, with all classes requiring in-person attendance except for 2 online classes. Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • AHA BLS-HCP required.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and team-working skills.
  • Must be organized and self-motivated.
  • Must have knowledge of office procedure and equipment.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant is required for Critical Access Area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic clinical services to patients.
  • Provide clerical support to the unit health-care team.
  • Welcome and assist patients and visitors with registration.
  • Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Coordinate patient flow into/out of area using department/unit specific software and Intranet.
  • Schedule patient therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
  • Review medical records for outstanding orders and notify nurse of stat orders and medication changes (May assist).
  • Clean unit-based equipment and gather supplies needed to operate equipment between patients as needed.
  • Transport patients, supplies specimens and equipment within the facility.
  • Assist with chart audits (May assist).
  • Perform unit-based patient care tasks for patients (May perform).
  • Participate in the sitter process (May participate).
  • Interact with patients, visitors, physicians, and other health professionals.
  • Answer incoming calls via telephone and patient call system.
  • Route calls as needed and take messages.
  • Provide scheduling coverage support for department/unit staff scheduling, including back up coverage.
  • Operate and maintain general office equipment.
  • Order department/unit supplies and equipment and stock/organize supplies.
  • Serve as a resource for department/unit software system.
  • Monitor cleanliness of waiting and break rooms.
  • Perform safety/environmental rounds.
  • Assist with maintaining regulatory compliance in unit.
