CNC Vertical Mill & Lathe Setup Machinist

Columbus McKinnonHartland, WI

About The Position

Step into a day on our floor You start by opening Epicor to review work orders, pulling the setup instructions and prints for the jobs queued. With the blueprints in hand, you choose the right program for a vertical mill or lathe, making quick G-code edits where needed. You tool up, dial in fixtures, and perform changeovers with care—manual steps included—because holding tolerance to print is non‑negotiable. As parts run, you inspect with calipers and other hand metrology tools, nudging tool and work offsets whenever measurements drift. You deburr finished parts with a wheel or hand tools, scan them into Epicor, and log dates and job details so the next operation has everything it needs. When a new idea could shave seconds or improve quality, you pull an engineer aside and collaborate to fine‑tune the process.
