GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY: Set-up and operate manual mill, lathes, and surface grinders. Operations involve set-ups, tool changes and offset adjustment per machine specifications. Make one off part maintaining the print dimensions and completing first piece inspections. Read part programs and edit speeds and feeds at control if needed. back engineer and make parts for production breakdowns. Maintain and repair injection mold and associated equipment to assure production readiness. This is a professional tradesman position and must be treated as such at all times.

Requirements

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others both verbally & in writing.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment and demonstrate the highest standards of motivation and teamwork.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail & organization.
  • Journeyman’s card preferred
  • Machinist work experience, at least 5 years
  • Basic knowledge of Mastercam and AutoCAD
  • CNC machining/set-up Experience
  • Ability to understand G and M codes
  • Ability to hold tight tolerances
  • Ability to change fixtures and tooling to set up new jobs.
  • Ability to read blue prints and inspect parts
  • Ability to read mics, calipers, comparators, and other measuring tools.
  • Solid work ethic and excellent attitude
  • Physically able to bend, squat, twist, climb, push/pull, reach & lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to communicate well with others both verbally & in writing
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Must be able to perform duties within small areas, as small as 2 ft x 2 ft
  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • Must follow all safety procedures including use of appropriate PPE
  • Must complete all OSHA required training and all department specific training.
  • Lift Truck certification preferred.
  • Lock Out/ Tag Out training.
  • Hazardous Material training.

Responsibilities

  • Run machine tools to make parts as needed
  • Communicates with supervisors, processors & other technical personnel.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards of assigned area
  • Operate powered vehicles and other machinery as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
  • Replace & fits parts of molds, components, accessories & support equipment as needed.
  • Repairs, adjusts and modifies molds to address production issues and engineering changes.
  • Utilizes trade skills as appropriate, such as, welding, polishing and machining.
  • Design and construct jigs, fixtures and other items as needed.
