We’re looking for a skilled CNC team leader who is ready to provide daily leadership and support to our team in addition to programming and operating our CNC machines. Requirements

  • Associates degree in precision machining, with five to seven years of related experience. OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a proven record of being a team player. Must be skilled in all aspects of the CNC areas.
  • Advanced Cad/cam programing skills, along with Solidworks and or other related software's used in the manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with computer and Microsoft Office products including Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing, CNC manufacturing methods and tooling, and proficient with the operations of cnc machines
  • Able to communicate effectively through written and verbal communication and follow standard operating procedures.
  • Must follow established Speedway and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CNC lathe experience a plus, including live tooling, multi spindle and turret, Swiss lathe experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Support the efficiency of the team and machines by helping manage workload for the CNC area, maintaining machine schedules, and supporting overall production goals.
  • Ensure parts are built to specification; tooling and programs are ready for production, and machines operate efficiently to maximize output.
  • Promote high-quality standards, monitor cycle times, and drive productivity, including extended machine utilization when feasible.
  • Monitor, train, and help coach team members on core competencies and performance metrics in alignment with manager expectations.
  • Assist with drafting performance appraisals, counseling team members reinforcing exceptional performance, and the creation of performance improvement plans as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Work with the CNC Manager to learn and participate in effective hiring practices: including reviewing, applications, interviewing candidates, and making hiring decisions.
  • Assist with daily flow and delegating responsibilities among team members within the department.
  • This is primarily an on the floor working position, including set up, programing and operation/running of CNC machines, when not supporting team members.
  • Continue to learn other areas of the Machine Shop and develop management skills through management training.
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols
