About The Position

Prepares and operates numerical control machines or machining centers to perform various machine functions, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching of metallic and nonmetallic work pieces, utilizing knowledge of machine tool capabilities, machinability of materials, and shop math. CNC Laser Cutter and/or CNC Press Brake experience required.

Requirements

• Must be able to program, set-up and operate CNC Mills and other machines
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Knowledge of GD&T
• Produce parts from blueprints, drawings , 3D Cad models or verbal instructions to specifications
• Knowledge of G and M codes, ability to edit programs as needed
• Experience with tight tolerance parts made from various materials
• Ability to utilize precision inspection equipment/tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gages etc.
• Strong attention to detail
• Use shop support equipment, saws, sanders grinders etc.
• Knowledge of related machine tooling
• Ability to modify or grind tools as needed for machining
• HS diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience in machine shop environment required
• CNC Laser Cutter and/or CNC Press Brake experience required.

• Maintains average or better accuracy on all functions.
• Mentors other employees.
• Works on limited scope of machinery set-up.
• Escalates issues to supervisor for resolution.
