About The Position

MMI Engineered Solutions is seeking a CNC Set Up Operator to join our Engineering team. In this role, you'll play a critical part in tooling construction by setting up and operating CNC lathes and mills. You'll ensure parts meet exact specifications, handle stock and work pieces, and carry out precision inspections. Your attention to detail will directly impact the quality and performance of our tooling and products.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of CNC machine or programmable metal-cutting equipment experience.
Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM software and computer operations.
Familiarity with measuring tools (tape measure, ruler, meter gauges).
Ability to read and follow shop drawings and written instructions.
General understanding of signage, graphics materials, substrates, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

Start CNC machines and observe operations to verify specifications are met.
Handle and position stock/work pieces using vices, jaws, and hand tools.
Perform in-process inspections with gauges, micrometers, and dial indicators.
Perform insert and cutting tool changes to support CNC operation.
Ensure all tooling produced meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Stop machining immediately if quality or safety concerns arise.
