(Flexible; set your own hours) Start Date: ASAP Sponsorship: Not available CNC Programmer Description Our client, a well-established and reputable machining shop in Northwest Pittsburgh, is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Operator to join their team. This role is ideal for a hands-on machinist with strong programming and troubleshooting capabilities who takes pride in producing high-quality parts. You’ll work on CNC milling machines and related shop equipment, taking ownership of programming, setup, and operation from print to finished part. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex machining projects, collaborate with engineers and machinists, and continuously improve processes in a team-oriented environment—while still operating with a high level of autonomy and trust on the shop floor . Requirements

  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience required
  • Strong experience with CNC programming and milling operations required
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, shop drawings, and measuring instruments required
  • Capable of working to tolerances of +/-.0005" required

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision metal components
  • Read, interpret, and edit G-code to optimize machining performance
  • Perform complex machining operations with a focus on quality and efficiency
  • Verify finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and GD&T requirements
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make program adjustments as needed
  • Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and project managers to improve processes
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
