About The Position

Wieland is a global leader in copper and copper alloy manufacturing, processing, and distribution. The CNC Production Machinist will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC lathes and milling machines to produce precision-machined components that meet established quality and production standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, basic mechanical aptitude, and the ability to interpret technical drawings. The position supports manufacturing operations by ensuring efficient production, adherence to safety standards, and continuous improvement in machining processes. This role is located in Coldwater, Ohio and will be fully on-site.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic math and measurement skills (fractions, decimals, tolerances).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and part prints.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work 10-hour shifts, including evenings, nights, and/or overnight schedules.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year of machining experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with CNC lathes and mills preferred (training provided for qualified candidates).
  • Experience using manual gauges and measuring equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC lathes and milling machines to produce parts according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Perform routine machine setup, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Use manual measuring tools and gauges to inspect parts for accuracy and quality.
  • Monitor production output to ensure efficiency and adherence to production targets.
  • Identify and report defects, inconsistencies, or equipment issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company policies.
  • Follow all safety procedures and operational guidelines.
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and quality personnel to meet production goals.
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
