About The Position

An established precision sheet metal manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced CNC Press Brake Technician to support production in a high-demand environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in fabrication who can independently manage machine setup, programming, and operation while maintaining strict quality standards. The facility supports a wide range of industries and operates in a fast-paced setting where accuracy and efficiency are critical. This role is responsible for operating CNC press brake equipment to bend and form metal components in accordance with engineering specifications. The position includes machine setup, program selection, tooling adjustments, and quality verification. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-focused, and capable of working with minimal supervision while ensuring production accuracy and safety compliance.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience operating CNC press brake equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Experience working with materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and galvanized steel
  • Proficiency with measurement tools including calipers and micrometers
  • Strong math skills and mechanical troubleshooting ability
  • Physical capability to lift 50–75 lbs and perform repetitive movements (standing, bending, twisting, squatting)
  • Willingness to work in varying shop conditions (temperature changes, production environment)

  • Experience working with graphical CNC control systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to workflow efficiency
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices

Responsibilities

  • Set up press brake machines, load or retrieve programs, and select appropriate tooling
  • Program CNC controls for light-gauge metal bending applications
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to meet production requirements
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot basic operational issues
  • Conduct routine maintenance to ensure equipment reliability
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records
  • Work independently and make sound decisions related to fabrication processes
