About The Position

Specialty Metals Corp is a high-end, precision fabrication job shop serving demanding industries, including aerospace and other quality-critical markets. Our facility is AS9100-certified, and we operate with a strong focus on process control, documentation, and doing the job right the first time. The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced CNC Press Brake Operator to operate a 12-foot, 285-ton CNC press brake on swing shift (2:00pm – 10:30pm). This is a skilled position suited for an operator who understands complex forming, takes pride in precision work, and is comfortable collaborating across departments. You’ll work closely with CAD and Sales to support design criteria, manufacturability, and accurate job quoting. This role also provides backup support for shear operations. Salary range: $26.00 - $33.00 per hour Why should you apply? Requirements

  • 3+ years of CNC press brake experience
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal forming and shop math
  • Proven ability to work from complex drawings
  • Experience selecting tooling independently
  • Comfortable in a high-mix, low-volume job shop environment
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience (certification preferred)
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and quality-driven

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate a 12’ 285-ton CNC press brake for high-tolerance, custom parts
  • Calculate flat patterns, bend deductions, and bend allowances
  • Select proper tooling for material type, thickness, and geometry
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and CAD-based design criteria
  • Collaborate with CAD and Sales to support manufacturability and quoting
  • Measure and inspect parts using tape measures, calipers, and precision tools
  • Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes
  • Back up shear operations as production needs require
  • Maintain quality standards consistent with AS9100 requirements
