About The Position

The Press Brake Operator is responsible for operating machinery to shape and bend sheet metal according to specifications. They work with a variety of materials and tools to produce parts and assemblies for clients in different industries. This job requires expertise in reading blueprints and schematics, as well as the ability to use measuring instruments to ensure accuracy.?

Requirements

  • Ability to discern between the following types of materials:
  • Carbon Hot Rolled Steel/Cold Rolled Steel
  • Aluminum
  • Stainless Steels
  • Ability to read measuring tools including protractor and caliper, Fabrivision, and scanning instruments preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of bend allowances.
  • Capable of reading blueprints.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Comfortable with power tools and manual tools.
  • Proficient in operating a forklift.
  • 1+ years of forklift experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED & Additional equipment certification training is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years CNC press brake experience.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of previous experience in a Metal fabrication shop working with similar equipment and materials.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Press Brake Lead with the following:
  • Press brake programming.
  • Amada setup.
  • Set up and operate press brakes according to specifications.
  • Inspect parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Adjust machine settings as necessary to achieve desired results.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine proper measurements and tolerances.
  • Communicate with team members to ensure production schedule is met.
  • 7S, keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Performs daily/weekly/monthly preventive maintenance on machines.
  • Work within all safety guidelines.
  • Obeying all company, OSHA, and other state and federal agencies’ safety regulations.
  • Cross-train on various machines.
  • Misc projects and prototyping.
  • Completing all duties as assigned, while making the most efficient use of time, raw materials, and equipment.
  • Working 40 to 50+ hour work weeks dependent on production needs.
  • Obeying all company, OSHA, and other state and federal agencies’ safety regulations.
  • Work as a team and communicate effectively with management and all employees.
