About The Position

King Retail Solutions, a leading designer and manufacturer of retail design, decor, and cabinetry/casework/millwork is looking for a CNC Operator Trainee to operate a Beam Saw. Position Summary: The CNC Operator Trainee will receive on-the-job training to learn how to set up and operate CNC machines under the supervision of experienced CNC operators. The role is designed to help individuals gain the skills necessary to become a skilled CNC Operator, focusing on learning machine operation, quality control, and time management. The work schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 3p,-11:30pm. Training will be on day shift, 7:30am-4pm for approximately 6-8 weeks. Extended hours and Saturdays may be required during our busiest times. Pay Rate: $17-21/hr, depending on experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • No prior CNC experience required; preferential candidates will have prior work in manufacturing or career/technical education such as wood shop, metalworking, etc.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to adhere to quality standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and positive attitude.
  • Basic mechanical skills and aptitude preferred.
  • Proven ability to promote a cooperative work environment and teamwork.
  • Attention to detail and adhere to KRS quality standards.
  • Reliable transportation to work is required.
  • Ability to stand/walk on a cement floor for 8-10 hour shifts and lift 30-50lbs regularly through a shift. This position requires a pre-employment physical and strength test to ensure the ability to perform job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in loading and unloading materials from the machine under guidance.
  • Support experienced operators in inspecting machinery and learning adjustments.
  • Shadow senior CNC operators to understand shop drawings and cut lists.
  • Verify accuracy of machined workpieces under supervision.
  • Learn to read work order instructions and processing charts.
  • Maintain an organized work area, ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Input necessary data for operations as directed by supervisors.
  • Help with sorting and stacking finished workpieces, and disposing of waste materials.
  • Participate in training on machine operations, safety protocols, and production quality standards.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to support learning and production processes.
