About The Position
This position is for a CNC Operator I at OBE, a company that contributes architectural glass and building products to various projects globally, including apartments, hospitals, stadiums, and universities. The role involves general labor tasks such as drilling, cutting, and tapping aluminum and stainless steel. The individual will be responsible for obtaining materials from material carts, placing them into machines, reading orders, and preparing materials for machine operations.
Requirements
- Experience operating CNC machinery, including Laser Cutters and/or WaterJet cutting systems
- Ability to understand and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and production documentation
- Familiarity with machine controls, offsets, cutting parameters, and basic troubleshooting
- Ability to consistently lift 75 lbs over a 10‑hour shift
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality, precision metal parts
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC, Laser, and WaterJet machinery to cut, form, drill, and fabricate metal parts
- Set up machines by loading programs, selecting tooling, adjusting offsets, and verifying job parameters
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD instructions, work orders, and product tags to ensure accurate production
- Perform first-piece inspections and dimensional checks using precision measuring tools, documenting results as required
- Maintain safe, organized operations by monitoring machine performance, handling materials, performing operator-level maintenance, and following safety and 5S procedures
