Where You Will Work Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM)/EA Patten is the primary division of Stanley Black & Decker Aerospace, with locations in Manchester and Columbia, CT. We are a leading innovator and strategic partner in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, tubing assemblies and engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. CAM is currently comprised of nine subsidiaries across the United States split among three segments. Who You Are Working on 2nd shift in our Columbia, CT facility, the Mill-Turn Lead will oversee daily shop floor operations, guide a team of machinists, setting up mills/lathes, optimizing production, ensuring quality/safety, and acting as technical resource for parts and processes.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with CNC milling and turning centers (multi-axis preferred).
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience with precision measuring tools and an ability to hold tight tolerances.
  • Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for complex mill/turn setups and troubleshooting, mentoring other machinists.
  • Schedule work, monitor machine performance, ensure timely completion of jobs.
  • Suggest changes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Assign tasks, resolve conflicts
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols
