About The Position

Ascentec Engineering is hiring at our Dallas, Oregon facility. We are seeking skilled and detail-oriented CNC Mill Machinists to join our precision aerospace manufacturing team. This role is responsible for the setup, operation, and inspection of CNC Mills to produce high-quality, tight-tolerance components in a fast-paced, AS9100 certified environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with prototype and low-to-mid volume production, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to continuous improvement and quality. Shifts available: Day Shift: Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Swing Shift: Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Weekend Day Shift: Friday through Sunday, 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Weekend Night Shift: Friday through Sunday, 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The off shifts come with an industry leading hourly shift differential. This position is on-site (not remote/not hybrid) at our Dallas, Oregon facility and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–3 years of CNC Mill machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and GD&T.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Strong understanding of cutting tools, speeds/feeds, and machining best practices.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
  • Trade school certification or formal machining training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC Mills (Okuma, DMG) for precision machining of aerospace components.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
  • Load and verify CNC programs; set and adjust work/tool offsets as needed.
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, etc.).
  • Maintain dimensional accuracy within tolerances typically ±0.002” or tighter.
  • Document and maintain setup sheets, inspection records, and production logs in accordance with AS9100 and internal quality procedures.
  • Identify and troubleshoot machining issues, tool wear, and process inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure product conformance and continuous improvement.
  • Follow all safety protocols, 5S standards, and preventive maintenance procedures.
