The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing all manufacturing operations to ensure the efficient production and delivery of high-quality products that meet customer requirements. This role manages daily operations through the coordination of Project Managers, Production Supervisors, and cross-functional teams, maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and on-time delivery. The Manufacturing Manager develops and implements manufacturing policies, procedures, and performance standards to drive continuous improvement, optimize resources, and support company growth. This position requires hands-on leadership and technical expertise in CNC machining operations, process control, and team development.

  • Provide personal management for manufacturing teams.
  • Oversee Master Scheduling of the manufacturing operations flow, utilize system data to provide delivery commitments on new orders.
  • Ensure appropriate workload for fulltime/supplemental employees to meet the needs of customers and manage/approve individual overtime.
  • Ensure adequate training to minimize risk of skill shortcomings in each department within the manufacturing team.
  • Develop and implement processes and systems aimed at improving safety, efficiency, productivity, and quality of product flow in conjunction with applicable QMS and OSHA standards.
  • Identification of upcoming and strategic technical skill and equipment needs and appropriate training or justification of new hires or new equipment to accommodate the needs.
  • Assess and document the individual and team performance of all manufacturing team members with appropriate action taken to reward or address behavior on a timely basis.
  • Create, justify and manage the department budget for capital and expense.
  • Create and maintain a department roadmap to project a growth plan for staff and equipment to meet the business unit’s development outlook.
  • Benchmark the capabilities of the staff and equipment to other corporations.
  • Ensure appropriate operations support to individual projects through partnership with the project management, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Manage manufacturing schedules to support customer requirements (cost, quality and delivery) and identify resource deficiencies to the President.
  • Provide operations input (technical and schedule) to project management for proposals to customers.
  • Interface with customers to understand requirements for all aspects of the product’s production.
  • Report quality issues and provide solutions to management, the quality team, and customers as required.
  • Meet or exceed project goals including cost, schedule, and quality with high customer satisfaction.
  • Provide management leadership through clear written and oral communication internally and with the customer.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person citizenship status.
  • Able to work cross functionally with project managers, materials procurement, design, process development, and customers.
  • Able to build and manage a team of diverse individuals at a variety of skill levels.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to understand financial statements.
  • Ability to operate manufacturing software applications and supporting applications to enhance productivity and quality of work.
  • Possesses hands-on, self-starting attitude with strong interpersonal, integration, business and technical skills.
  • Able to hire, terminate, and train employees.
  • Able to multi-task and organize work to meet objectives.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in CNC manufacturing operations, including direct supervision of machining and production teams.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, improve production processes, and achieve efficiency, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related technical discipline
