About The Position

The CNC Manufacturing Assistance Instructor delivers high-quality training in CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining, covering setup, operation, safety, and programming of CNC equipment. This role supports the RAMI/TRAIN project in Brownsville and the COAST project in Corpus Christi, preparing students for careers in modern manufacturing by teaching CNC machining principles, G-code programming, tooling setup, and operation. The instructor trains a diverse audience, including CNC operators, Production Supervisors, and technicians in various manufacturing companies, with a focus on improving production equipment performance. The instructor utilizes adult learning theories and various media to maximize learner success and assists in curriculum development. They also help with scheduling training deliveries, coordinating participant registration and logistics, compiling data, and ensuring quality control. This position requires establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with students, customers, and internal support personnel. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, manufacturing, or applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of hands-on CNC machining experience.
  • One year of experience in adult education and/or training of CNC operation principals.
  • Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Equivalency: Associate’s Degree with seven years of hands-on CNC machining experience OR a High School Diploma/GED with nine years of hands-on CNC machining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality training in CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining, including setup, operation, safety, and programming of CNC equipment for the RAMI/TRAIN project in Brownsville and the COAST project in Corpus Christi.
  • Prepare students for careers in modern manufacturing by teaching CNC machining principals, G-code programming, tooling setup and operation.
  • Train a broad audience including CNC operators, Production Supervisors and technicians in a variety of manufacturing companies through CNC courses which focus on improved production equipment performance.
  • Use knowledge of adult learning theories and learning styles to maximize learner success and ensure overall effectiveness of the course instruction.
  • Use a variety of media to present course materials.
  • Assist in curriculum development projects to maintain course relevance and support customer needs.
  • Assist in scheduling training deliveries.
  • Coordinate participant registration and logistics.
  • Compile data.
  • Ensure quality control measures are met.
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with students, customers and internal support personnel.
