About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Manual/CNC Machinist to join our team on day shift. This role is ideal for a machinist with strong CNC setup and operation skills who also has the foundational manual machining knowledge to support unique or non-routine work when needed.

Requirements

3+ years of CNC machining experience in a job shop or custom manufacturing environment
Strong setup experience on CNC mills and CNC lathes (live tooling preferred)
Solid understanding of manual machining fundamentals
Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
Comfortable working with imperial and metric measurement systems
High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Ability to work independently while supporting team goals
Experience working in 5S and ISO 9001 environments

Nice To Haves

Machinist certification, apprenticeship, or equivalent technical training preferred
Proficiency with or experience in conversational programming
Experience with fixture repair and improvement
Demonstrated involvement in process improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

Perform manual machining operations to support special jobs, rework, or repairs
Operate CNC mills and CNC lathes, including lathes with live tooling
Perform CNC machine setups and changeovers, as required
Utilize conversational programming to support CNC operations
Troubleshoot machining issues and make process adjustments to improve quality and efficiency
Support, improve and repair fixtures and tooling to enhance repeatability and reduce setup time
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
Measure and inspect parts using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges)
Ensure finished parts meet quality, tolerance, and customer requirements
Identify and support process improvement opportunities, particularly related to CNC utilization
Support and maintain 5S standards and overall shop organization
Work within an ISO 9001 quality system, including required inspection and documentation
Communicate with production, quality, and supervision to meet schedules and resolve issues
