About The Position

The CNC Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC machines and related manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. This role requires strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of CNC repair experience in amanufacturing environment (CNC maintenance highly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Experience working with CNC controllers (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, Mazak).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators, test equipment).
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification or NFPA 70E electrical safety training.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and ESD protection.
  • PLC troubleshooting or basic programming knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on CNC machines, including mills, lathes, routers, grinders, and machining centers.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues; execute repairs to restore equipment to peak operation.
  • Troubleshoot CNC control systems (Fanuc, Haas, Siemens,Yasda, Mazak, etc.) and adjust parameters as needed.
  • Inspect equipment for wear and damage; replace or adjust components such as bearings, ball screws, servo motors, belts, and spindles.
  • Support installation, calibration, and commissioning of new CNC equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve machine performance issues.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
  • Recommend process improvements and assist in optimizing machine uptime.
