About The Position

Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a CNC Machinist for a contract assignment in South Houston. The CNC Machinist will produce machined parts from a variety of materials while maintaining high standards of quality by setting up and operating various machining equipment. This role requires the ability to independently set up machines, edit programs, and ensure all products meet required specifications, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of PVF industry experience.
  • Proficiency in operating Fanuc-controlled lathes and Doosan machines using G-codes.
  • Ability to independently perform CNC machine set-ups.
  • Ability to read and understand industry specifications, charts, and tables.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to speak and read English; bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Average reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines, including Fanuc-controlled lathes and Doosan machines, utilizing G-codes.
  • Independently perform machine set-ups, including computing machine speeds and feeds.
  • Read and interpret computer-generated work orders, engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, charts, and specifications.
  • Edit and upgrade existing CNC programs as directed to improve part quality and production efficiency.
  • Perform required mathematical computations per assignment.
  • Inspect parts visually and dimensionally to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and correct machining issues on time.
  • Ensure designated equipment (hand tools, power tools, etc.) is in proper working condition.
  • Scan machining steps in shop travelers, scan completed pieces, and close out machining steps upon completion.
  • Complete inspection reports, including sampling inspections for CNC machines.
  • Verify heat numbers and quantities for accuracy.
  • Notify Production Supervisor or QC Inspector of any nonconforming products.
  • Follow Quality Policy and department processes, including proper identification and segregation of non-conforming materials.
  • Utilize required PPE and attend daily safety meetings.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, remaining aware of potential hazards.
  • Dispose of waste properly using appropriate equipment and receptacles.
  • Communicate effectively with department supervisors and team members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support company goals.
