About The Position

SUMMARY: As a Night Shift CNC Machinist, you will set up and operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality parts and components during overnight production hours. Your role is critical to maintaining continuous manufacturing operations and ensuring parts meet the required specifications outlined in production paperwork. Machining employees ensure doors, jambs, and parts are accurately built and machined to meet quality standards. Highlights of the Role Visually inspect jamb parts to ensure product quality and notify the lead of unacceptable quality issues. Properly set up the Jet 7000 machine for the night shift workflow using production paperwork. Select materials for machine based on load dates and machining requirements. Perform machine checks to verify proper setup before and during operation. Operate and maintain machinery following direction from the machining & jamb lead. Prepare all jamb parts according to production documentation. Ensure all door parts are accounted for, are the correct wood species, and meet manufacturing specifications. Utilize machinery to prepare jambs for final assembly. Complete rework/remake tickets accurately. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong communication, organization, time management, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to recognize wood species and identify wood-specific defects
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong time-management skills and sustained focus
  • Knowledge of product line, quality expectations, and equipment
  • Ability to keep the work area clean and organized
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately
  • Solid mathematical abilities
  • Ability to stand for 10-hour shifts
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs–50 lbs routinely

Responsibilities
