About The Position

We are seeking a CNC Machinist I to support production operations in a machine shop environment. This position is responsible for independently operating CNC machines, making minor tool and offset adjustments, and ensuring parts meet quality and production standards. The CNC Machinist I works closely with a Lead Person or Supervisor for more complex adjustments and troubleshooting.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum of 3 years of machining experience or vocational machining education
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings, including GD&T
Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges
Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, percentages, and conversions
Basic computer skills and ability to enter production data
Strong attention to detail and quality

Responsibilities

Operate CNC machines independently with minimal supervision
Read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, dimensions, tolerances, and tooling requirements
Monitor machine operation and inspect parts for conformance to specifications
Perform visual inspections and use measuring devices to verify quality
Set required offsets after basic tool setup is completed
Interpret CNC programs including feeds, speeds, tooling, canned cycles, coolant use, and axis movements
Stop production and escalate issues when quality concerns arise
Perform preventive maintenance checks including fluid levels, system pressure, tooling wear, lubrication, and cleaning
Accurately record production results at job completion or end of shift
Properly tag and disposition scrap and move to designated areas
Maintain housekeeping standards and follow 5S practices
Meet production quotas and labor standards
Follow all safety policies and procedures
Perform additional duties as assigned
