CNC Machine Tool Maintenance Specialist
About The Position
Make Precision Possible in Wheeling, IL Step into a modern, climate-controlled facility where uptime matters and craftsmanship counts. As a CNC Machine Tool Maintenance Specialist, you will keep our CNC mills, lathes, and Swiss machines running at peak performance so production teams can deliver with confidence. A Day in the Life Start with proactive rounds, completing preventive maintenance on CNC mills, lathes, and Swiss machines. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues to minimize downtime. Document all work thoroughly in maintenance logs to ensure traceability and continuous improvement. Partner with production and engineering to plan repairs, schedule upgrades, and boost equipment reliability. Identify opportunities for enhancements and implement approved improvements or retrofits. Champion safety and quality by following established procedures and best practices.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with CNC mills, lathes, or Swiss machines is required.
- Strong diagnostic ability across mechanical and electrical systems; able to read blueprints, schematics, and OEM manuals.
- Reliable, detail-focused, and ready to work overtime when needed.
Nice To Haves
- PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus (not required).
