Position Summary: The CNC set-up Operator will operate, change over and set-up CNC machines on low to medium complexity components using automated and manual equipment and processes to meet end customer needs. This is an entry-level Set-Up position that draws on prior machining experience and technical critical thinking skills to operate, change over and set-up a minimum of two (2) types of Primary CNC equipment. Works both independently and in a team environment with internal team members, leads, supervisors, quality CNC Programming and Manufacturing Engineering. Will also be responsible for communicating with management. FLSA: Non-exempt

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of demonstrated CNC experience with a minimum One (1) year as a level III Operator.
Must be able to convey ideas and information clearly, concisely, and accurately to others in English, both verbally and in written form.
Must have a professional and respectful attitude.
Capable of adjusting and calculating feeds and speeds and apply knowledge of G and M codes.

Responsibilities

Operate, change over and set-up a minimum of 2 types of primary CNC equipment within the time allotted by planning/Operator Standard Work.
Complete all operational processes, checklists and procedures as required.
Identify and assemble cutting tools and tool holder assemblies based on existing process documentation.
Prepare all tooling, fixturing and program prove out for the machines.
Pick-up work offsets.
Execute all necessary tooling adjustments, all necessary center of rotation adjustments, work off set adjustments, making minor programming updates (feeds and speeds).
Verify dimensions from CMM reports.
Validate inspection methods to determine best practices.
Use data from inspection report to make improvements or corrections to programs.
Must collaborate with inspectors during the FA process to implement improvements.
Perform basic troubleshooting on parts before engaging final inspection.
Attend ABB or Fanuc Training and apply training, as necessary.
Complete tasks as assigned in a timely manner.
Participate in 5S Workplace organizational activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities.
Regular on-site attendance/punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
May be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.
May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
