3rd Shift CNC Machine Operator
About The Position
Cerro Fabricated Products LLC, part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings (backed by Berkshire Hathaway), is seeking a 3rd Shift CNC Machine Operator. This role involves producing machined parts using a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) lathe machine. The operator will interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials lists, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, while continuously checking machine settings for accuracy. The CNC Operator performs all tasks involved in the machining of aluminum and brass forging into finished products, maintaining quality standards and safe work habits to ensure efficient and safe production.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds periodically.
- Ability to perform repetitive work.
- Must be able to use hand tools as required.
- Demonstrated ability to work with others as part of a team is essential.
- Must be able to demonstrate basic math proficiency.
Nice To Haves
- Previous CNC or machining experience is a plus.
- Ability to read micrometers and calipers a plus.
Responsibilities
- Produce machined parts using a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) lathe machine.
- Interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials lists, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters.
- Check machine on an ongoing basis to ensure accuracy of settings.
- Perform all tasks involved in the machining of aluminum and brass forging into finished products.
- Follow and maintain quality standards throughout the process.
- Maintain standard work practices and safe work habits to ensure production is run efficiently and safely as possible.
- Maintain run efficiencies and quality standards for each machine.
- Promptly communicate to the supervisor any issues concerning health, safety, quality and efficiencies.
- Meet the quality standards required by customer specifications.
- Work on multiple CNC lathes and mills.
- Follow company procedures and policies.
- Assist other operators.
- Communicate production operations both written and verbal.
- Attach appropriate labels and tags to products.
- Pack finished products into correct totes.
- Track production through the GEMBA process and data collection system.
- Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issue.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
