CNC Machine Operator
About The Position
The Gund Company, a leader in engineered material solutions specializing in customized electrical insulation products, has an immediate opening for a full-time CNC Machine Operator I. The company operates 12 global facilities and prides itself on delivering high-quality products and excellent customer service. As a CNC Machine Operator I, the successful candidate will play a key role in the manufacturing process of thermoset composite materials. This involves operating various manufacturing equipment such as presses, forming, extrusion, pultrusion, and/or shape machines. The position also requires manual work and the use of various hand tools and secondary/accessory equipment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in a manufacturing industry with mixing, batching or compounding equipment is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture molded glass polyester sheets.
- Select and install machine components, such as dies, spacers, shims and/or stops according to specifications.
- Trim/file and de-flash molded sheet edges and perform in process measuring and material inspections.
- Set up tooling, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Clean dies and molds, using scrapers, brushes, scotch pads or air hoses.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
