Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have an impressive attendance record and ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic math and Blueprint reading
  • Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior machining experience (a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Plan or verify operation to be performed and material to be used.
  • Set up all tooling with appropriate stops, clamps, and fixtures.
  • Set up and operate CNC, lathe &/or vertical machine tools to make parts per engineering specifications.
  • Load material into machine utilizing overhead crane and secure to ensure safe machining on forgings that can exceed 100,000lbs using various lifting apparatus.
  • Calculate chain and strap adjustments to ensure the safe lifting and transporting of parts.
  • Monitor run to ensure parts are being produced to specification.
  • Use measuring devices and blueprints/engineering drawings to inspect parts for tolerance.
  • Visually inspect surface for appearance and non-conformities which may require repair.
  • Complete the required documentation and reports at the completion of the job.
  • Critically evaluate and contribute to improving the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain proper coolant ratios and levels and perform routine maintenance
  • Deburr parts when necessary
  • Ability to run more than one machine maintaining run times as required
  • Provide guidance or training for less skilled machinists.
