Assemble sub-systems and cubic engine components using various tools, gauges, devices, Loctite, liquid nitrogen, lubricants, and specialized equipment. Operate CNC HELLER machining centers with Siemens 840D controllers according to instructions, routings, control plans, production requirements, and diagrams. Read, study, and interpret blueprints, machining/assembly instructions, specifications manuals, job orders, routings, and control plans to determine sequences of operations, setups, and requirements. Compile workpieces, components, and materials per specifications; inspect, document, and report defects. Select appropriate materials and tooling required for machining and assembly of cubic engine components. Position and align components for assembly into larger mounting elements and verify part clearances. Perform leak testing and functional testing of parts and assemblies using multiple processes and technologies. Measure and verify dimensions and conformance of parts and finished products using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, templates, fixtures) in accordance with quality control plans. Test assemblies and larger mounting elements for quality assurance, record results, and verify conformance to MTU America specifications. Perform fine-tuning, optimization, and monitoring of machining processes, including sample cuts, CNC program optimization, tool durability, vibration detection, and collision prevention. Observe machine operation, adjust processes as needed, and stop machines to remove workpieces or change tooling, setups, or placements. Maintain industrial equipment within Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) specifications using knowledge of mechanics, materials, mathematics, and machining procedures. Rework, repair, or replace damaged parts or assemblies; report unresolved disruptions such as tolerance deviations, breakdowns, wrong parts, or leaks to appropriate groups. Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functionality, machine capability, and specification compliance. Comply with all safety regulations and maintain clean, organized, and orderly work areas. Identify and reduce non-value-added work and support continuous improvement initiatives. Perform special projects as required and provide flexible support in other production-related areas. Promote a compliance culture and uphold the letter and spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.
