CNC Lathe Operators - Class C (2nd shift)
About The Position
As a Class C CNC Lathe Operator, you'll work under the guidance of senior machinists and supervisors to support the setup, operation, and inspection of CNC turning equipment. GSM operates a wide range of advanced machinery including Doosan VTLs, Mori SL and CL2000 series lathes, Okuma LB4000 EX II, ProtoTRAK, and DMG Mori platforms. You'll gain valuable hands-on experience while contributing to the production of components vital to national defense programs. Your work will directly support machining operations in accordance with the production schedule (IAW schedule).
Responsibilities
- Assist with machine setups, tooling, and material preparation.
- Operate CNC lathes and turning centers under supervision.
- Load/unload parts and perform in-process inspections with basic measurement tools.
- Follow routers, setup sheets, and work instructions accurately.
- Maintain part cleanliness, proper documentation, and adherence to safety standards.
- Learn to read blueprints and understand GD&T fundamentals.
- Support 5S initiatives and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Work collaboratively with teammates to ensure jobs are completed IAW production schedule.
