About The Position

As a Class A CNC Lathe Operator, you'll perform advanced setups, precision machining, and first-piece inspections on a range of CNC turning equipment. GSM operates Doosan VTLs, Mori SL and CL2000 lathes, Okuma LB4000 EX II, ProtoTRAK, and DMG Mori platforms, supporting both high-mix and large-part production. You'll work closely with Planning and Supervision to execute jobs in accordance with the production schedule (IAW schedule), ensuring throughput, quality, and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up and operate CNC turning centers and VTLs.
• Review process plans, blueprints, and GD&T specifications for each operation.
• Verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments and ensure compliance with AS9100, NAVSEA, and customer standards.
• Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust tool offsets, and improve process stability.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to resolve nonconformance and improve first-pass yield.
• Support and mentor Class B and C operators as part of GSM's training culture.
• Maintain 5S standards, tooling condition, and proper documentation throughout each job.
• Partner with Planning and Supervision to ensure work is dispatched IAW production schedule.
