About The Position

This position is for our 1st shift Radiac Abrasives, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of conventional bonded and superabrasive grinding wheels. For more than 100 years, Radiac has delivered industry leading technology and quality products and service to the metal finishing industry. We are currently looking for a 1st shift CNC Lathe Operator to join our Production Team at our Oswego, IL facility. Salary Range is Hourly $23.00 - $26.00 depending on experience and skill level. Basic Function: Responsible to operate a CNC lathe machine by following a blueprint in order to meet production goals and quality standards

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate read and write in English.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Familiarity with the use of hand tools.
  • Ability to use various measuring instruments.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instruction.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a machining environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • 20/20 vision required with or without correction.
  • Ability to use hands 100% of the workday.
  • Ability to stand and or walk 100% of the workday.
  • Ability to bend, stoop or twist 50% of the workday.
  • Ability to exert physical force to push, pull, lift or carry 70 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in shop environment - continuous exposure to potentially hazardous metal working machinery and equipment, loud noises, dust, mist, oils and solvents.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture turned and milled parts from various raw materials according to a given blueprint.
  • Create, read, understand, and modify existing Mazatrol Conversational programs.
  • Visually inspect product for burrs, damage, rust and other defects.
  • Measure product using prescribed gaging.
  • Identify the need for and complete tool changes as needed.
  • Inform management of any maintenance issues or problems related to a job.
  • Timely and accurate completion of all paperwork associated with production parts.
  • Verify piece count and traceability of product.
  • Maintain organized and clean work area.
  • Communicate all problems and other work-related issues with supervisor.
  • Receive, understand and follow all written and oral instruction.
  • Maintain meet or exceed rating on performance evaluations
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures in including safety and attendance requirements.
  • Resolve day-to-day issues by working effectively with others.
  • Other duties required to meet company needs as assigned by Supervisor.
