Job Title: CNC Lathe Operator 2nd Shift. Location: Fenton, MO. Job Summary: The ideal candidate will have experience in set-up, operating Haas, and experienced in adjusting offsets. 5 Axis is a plus!

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of previous CNC experience preferred.
  • Ability to add and subtract/basic math.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to lift to 25lb.
  • Ability to stand 90% of shift.

Nice To Haves

  • experience in set-up, operating Haas
  • experienced in adjusting offsets
  • 5 Axis is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Setup, layout and operate various CNC lathes and/or mills
  • Reads blue or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances and tooling instructions such as fixtures, cutting speeds, depth of cut and determines sequence of operations.
  • Selects, positions, and secures tool in tool holder.
  • Positions and secures work piece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers or fixtures.
  • Moves controls to position tool and work piece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds and depth of cut.
  • Set up fixture, starts machine.
  • Requires ability to read precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Observes operation of machine and verifies conformity of machined work piece to specifications.
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly.
  • Follows all Company rules and safety policies.
  • Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems.
  • Performs any assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools.
  • Adjusts, trim and fitting parts to close tolerances.
  • Follows visual aids (standard work) to ensure work is correct.
  • May perform testing of assembled product.
  • Make up cartons, labels, insert protective packing material, seal finishing product.
  • Meet efficiency rates.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure quality specifications are met.
  • Work within all safety guidelines and wear all required PPE (steel toe shoes, hearing protection and safety glasses).
  • Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor or team leader.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition - 5S.
  • Must be flexible to rotate job assignments within various work cells.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervision.
