In this role, you will create, edit and prove out CNC programs for multi-spindle mill-turn lathe and mills to support new product launches and ongoing production. As the primary front-line support, you will troubleshoot manufacturing issues on the shop floor, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive process improvements to endure efficient, high-quality production that aligns with Company standards and cost targets.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing environment
  • Must have experience and working knowledge of CNC multi-spindle, mill-turn lathes, CNC mills, and related tooling/fixtures.
  • Experience with manufacturing and design of small mechanical parts.
  • Working knowledge and/or experience with different types of materials.
  • Working knowledge and/or experience with various precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Must be proficient with use of computer and multiple software applications, including Word, Excel, and CAD/CAM.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Esprit, SolidWorks, or similar) for programming and modeling.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may also be acceptable.

  • Due to ITAR requirements, applicants must be legal “U.S. Person” (i.e. Citizen, Permanent Resident, etc.) to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Create 3D models, CNC programs, process drawings, setups, and fixtures using CAD/CAM software.
  • Develop and optimize efficient machining processes for CNC turning and milling centers, incorporating best practices in tooling, speeds, feeds, and cycle times.
  • Lead new product launches by completing programming and setup requirements for lathes, mills, and other machine centers.
  • Provide hands-on, post-launch support to resolve production issues related to part quality, tooling, programming, process capability, and work instructions.
  • Confer with multiple Teams (Operations, Engineering, and Quality) to discuss concerns with design and tooling and to ensure efficient production and machining methods while monitoring performance. Includes contributing ideas to and focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and layouts to determine optimal machining sequences, tooling selections, and operational plans using knowledge of materials, shop math, and machining principles.
  • Design and specify jigs, fixtures, clamps, and custom tooling as needed.
  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes, including scrap/yield analysis, to reduce waste, minimize downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Estimate production times, staffing needs, and costs to inform management decisions and budgeting.
  • Assist in forecasting and managing tooling/capital expenses while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues by inspecting parts, diagnosing malfunctions, wear, or misalignments.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Company safety standards in all work areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
