About The Position

We are seeking an experienced CNC ID/OD Grinding Supervisor to lead a high-precision grinding department focused on tight tolerances, excellent surface finish, and repeatable results. This is a hands-on leadership role combining shop-floor problem solving with daily workflow ownership—keeping jobs moving, supporting machinists, and continuously improving processes, quality, and throughput. Experience with Studer and Voumard machines is a strong plus.

Requirements

• Strong experience in CNC ID/OD grinding in a precision manufacturing setting
• Proven ability to hold tight tolerances and achieve high-quality surface finishes
• Solid knowledge of grinding fundamentals, setup practices, and process control
• Leadership/mentoring experience and strong problem-solving skills
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and gauges.
• Strong math and measuring skills
• Ability to operate large overhead crane and operate forklift
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Studer and Voumard machines is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily workflow, job priority, and output for the grinding department
• Support and oversee setup, programming, and operation of CNC ID/OD grinders
• Optimize processes: wheel selection, dressing, tooling/fixturing, speeds/feeds, coolant
• Troubleshoot grinding issues (finish, size, chatter, taper, burn) and drive root-cause fixes
• Train and mentor machinists; enforce strong inspection and quality standards
• Partner with Engineering/Quality/Planning to reduce scrap and increase throughput
