About The Position

The CNC Engineer Admin is responsible for preparing accurate and complete job documentation to support fabrication and production operations. This role ensures all job folders, bill of materials (BOMs), and CNC plasma nesting layouts are created with precision to meet production schedules and quality standards. The position plays a key role in maintaining workflow efficiency by organizing paperwork, following established administrative processes, and ensuring all job packets are ready for use across multiple departments.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of office or administrative experience, preferably in a manufacturing or job-shop environment.
  • 1–2 years of experience working with MS Office programs (Word, Excel) and Adobe PDF tools.
  • Minimum of 2 years of CNC plasma/laser nesting experience.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple job packets in a custom job-shop environment.
  • Strong mechanical and/or industrial aptitude.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • High School Diploma/GED

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in sheet metal, steel fabrication, or manufacturing operations.
  • Mechanical/industrial aptitude (beyond minimum requirements).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and prints and BOM’s.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM or nesting software such as: SigmaNest Autodesk Nest Striker ProNest Or similar systems

Responsibilities

  • Create job folders for fabrication and production teams.
  • Follow established processes and procedures for administrative and workflow tasks.
  • Print, assemble, and organize paperwork for job packets.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of folder sets.
  • Develop bills of materials (BOMs) for individual fabrication departments as well as full job builds.
  • Utilize database and ERP-style software for data entry, job setup, and tracking job completion.
  • Use nesting software to create CNC layouts for the plasma cutting machine.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and fabrication teams to ensure all job information is accurate and aligned with production requirements.
  • All other duties assigned.
